You know.... alot of times people think this whole music business thing (getting a record deal, trying to get exposure, getting a hit record...etc) is very simple. Nothing is further from the truth. Even myself in the music business I've had my moments. You have to be realistic if you want to be successful in this business. First of all, you have to really want it. It has to be your passion!!! Forget about the boyfriends, girlfriends, friends family...etc. It's all about what executives think of what you have to offer and if they can sell it. But in the end it's how you feel about your art and what you can do to make it marketable. Whether you are a singer, musician, or producer you have to believe in yourself first and foremost. You have to get out there and do it and hopefully you'll will come in contact with people who are sincere.
Getting a record deal isn't like it use to be. There is no more singing on the corner, sending your demo and giving it to a so called "person you know who knows someone"...etc. You have to be an independent artist. There is so much research information out there to show you how, thank God for the Internet. You have to be passionate about your music and show persistance, preserverance and professionalism. Don't forget to use your common sense.
Also thank God for your
gift, his Blessings upon you and every journey you encounter along the way. Never give up!!!
